Obesity is the cause of 200 diseases
It is clear to everyone that being overweight puts a strain on the joints and poses an enormous challenge for the heart. The latter manifests itself, among other things, in symptoms such as shortness of breath or fatigue.
Cardiologists at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City have now come to the following conclusion: Obesity was previously thought to be a disease that coexisted with heart failure. However, the new study proves that obesity is a major driver of the disease. In heart failure, the heart is no longer able to supply the body with sufficient blood and thus also with vital oxygen.
Dr. Ania Jastreboff, an endocrinologist and obesity medicine specialist at Yale University, told the NYT, „Obesity is linked to 200 other diseases related to obesity. If we treat this one disease, we can affect the health of so many patients in many different ways.“
Our institute helps and advises people on how to lose weight in a healthy way, without the „yo-yo effect“ and without side effects of medication.
